The Pocahontas County Board of Education recognizes the benefits when teachers seek and achieve higher levels of accreditation in their respective fields, specifically National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Research has shown that National Board Certified Teachers produce greater student achievement, especially for lower-achieving students.
Jennifer Nail-Cook was recognized during the February 20, 2024, Pocahontas County Board of Education Meeting for her recent completion of the National Board Certification. Superintendent Lynne Bostic recognized Mrs. Nail-Cook and remarked on her dedication and involvement in education. Mrs. Nail-Cook arose to the need of the high school’s band students during the first semester of this school year when the students were without a band instructor. She is a leader for not only for students but staff as well. She supports her students on weekend robotic competitions, is the high school’s faculty senate chair, and serves on the county’s calendar committee.
The Pocahontas County Board of Education applauds Jennifer Nail-Cook for her achievements and dedication to education.
